New story: Who killed the world?
An exploration of how sci-fi has changed in the last 70-some years
My latest piece in the Pudding explores how science fiction films and TV shows have evolved over the last 70-some years.
I analyzed the top 200 films and shows every decade, since the 1950s, and used ChatGPT’s API to analyze their content. (It took few iterations to figure out how to best prompt it. I’ll write more about that in an upcoming post.)
If you prefer to watch videos, here’s the YouTube version:
If there’s something you’d to know about the piece, feel free to reach out and I’ll answer the question in a behind-the-scenes post that I’ll send out in the next few days.
For now, I hope you enjoy the story.
(If you’re super bored, look closely at all the illustrations. I drew every single pixel, and had a lot of fun creating these rich worlds that hint at several subplots.)
More soon!
I am absolutely in love with the project. I think it's the best work you've done yet! I'd love to get and see how you went ahead making the art and the website. I haven't ever seen anything this well done or clean. Just wow.
